I was invited to try out Holohan´s at the barge in Belfast as part of a press trip arranged by Tourism North Ireland.
So the restaurant was very helpful to start with because we arrived later then planed because of our plane from Sweden was canceled so we were able to move our table 2 hours.
The restaurant is situated in the center of Belfast so we had a really close walk to the place from our hotel Malmasion Belfast. It can be hard to spot that the place is a restaurant from outside if you don´t know about it because it just looks like an old barge. But when you get in to the restaurant you are greeted by friendly staff.
The place is not too big so I recommend booking a table if you want to try it out. I liked the feeling I got when we were seated at our table. We got a view over the river Lagan while eating and started of with a beer before ordering our food.
I started off with a glazed pork belly and then went on to try the fermanagh boxty and finished the dinner with a baked Alaska.
If you are in Belfast I can recommend you to try this out. No to expensive and it has good food and a nice atmosphere.
