Gölwein from Falcon

Earlier this week I got a packaged from Falcon with everything I need to do some gölwein at home.

And during the weekend I made some.

And here is the recipe:

Gölwein from Falcon

A warm Christmas beer

  • 2 dl water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole caranations
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • a few drops of fresh lemon
  • 2 slices of winter apple
  • 2 bottles Falcon Winter brew
  • 1 sugar and cinnamon mixture
  • 1 orange


  • First we make the syrup by adding the following into a pot:
    2 dl of water -
    1 cinnamon stick -
    4 whole carnations -
    4 tbsp honey -
    A few drops of fresh lemon -
    2 slices of winter apple (without kernel) -
    Boil up the syrup and leave for a while, preferably at least 30 minutes. The syrup can be done in advance -
    Second step is:
    Prepare the selected glass by wetting the edge of the glass with an orange and then dipping the glasses in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. -
    Third step is:
    Strain the syrup and heat in a saucepan and then pour in Falcon Winter brew -
    The fourth step:
    Serve Gölwein and enjoy!
